What to know before repair
One of the main differences is price, but also quality. In most cases the OEM spare parts are cheaper then original LCD.
Most common differences between original displays and aftermarket displays are:
- Color depth and vibrance
- White balance – color temperature
- Visible grid on LCD, different display resolution
- Display can be “thicker”, doesn’t have to fit correctly
- Different view angle
Whether or not to buy cheaper LCD is solely up to you. If the price difference between aftermarket and original display is small, we suggest buying original. With older models where original LCD price can be higher than value of the entire phone we leave the decision on customers consideration.
If your device still is under warranty, there is no other way but use authorized service provider, or you will lose the warranty. We offer exclusively after-warranty repairs of Apple devices. We will gladly arrange in warranty repair.
We offer 24 months warranty for original LCDs and 6 months warranty for aftermarket LCDs.
What is remanufactured display?
Briefly said it is LCD panel which has only broken front glass, but has functional flex cables, is without water-damaged backlight etc. where the top layer – glass with touch screen – is removed together with polarizing filter which is made of plastic and often damaged by shards from the front glass. After cleaning of the LCD new front glass is glued to it.
Apple display is by itself fragile and can break with the slightest of movement.
When done incorrectly dust particles, lines or dots distorting the image (incorrectly breaking the light coming from LCD panel) will be visible on the LCD.
